What we can do

Six ways to make it yours

All of it happens in the studio. Nothing is sent out, which is why we can promise the proof will match the delivery.

Monogramming

Up to three initials, blind-embossed into leather or blocked in brass, forest or ivory foil. Included free on all leather goods.

Foil stamping

Brass, copper, forest and ivory foils, blocked on a 1962 Heidelberg platen with dies cut for your artwork.

Blind embossing

Pressure alone, no colour. The most restrained mark we make, and our binder's favourite.

Wedding suites

Invitations, menus, place cards and thank-you notes on cotton laid, letterpressed or foiled to match.

Logo-branded stationery

Your mark, redrawn for the press if needed, applied consistently across notebooks, folios and boxes.

Full commissions

A book that does not exist yet: format, stock, ruling, cover and box, developed with you over four to eight weeks.

Weddings

Paper that survives the box under the bed

Invitations, information cards, menus, place cards, table numbers and thank-you notes, printed on 300 GSM cotton rag with a deckled edge.

We letterpress on a hand-fed platen, which means an impression you can read with your fingers, and we foil on the same press when a suite calls for brass. Envelopes are tissue-lined in a colour drawn from your palette, and we will address them by hand in iron-gall ink if you would like.

  • Letterpress, foil block, blind emboss or a combination
  • Cotton rag, mould-made laid, or vellum overlays
  • Hand calligraphy and wax sealing available
  • Sample suite posted before you commit
How it works

Four steps, no surprises

01

Talk it through

A twenty-minute call or a studio visit. Bring a rough idea, a logo, or nothing at all.

02

Materials on the table

We send a swatch box: hides, cloths, papers and foil chips, so you decide with your hands.

03

Proof on the real stock

A physical proof of the stamping or letterpress, on the exact paper. Nothing goes to production without it.

04

Made and delivered

Two to six weeks depending on scope, boxed and dispatched with a written record of every material used.

Estimate request

Tell us what you have in mind

Consultation

Come and handle the materials

Forty-five minutes at the bench with our binder. Hides, cloths, papers and foil chips on the table, and a proof press to try an impression on the spot. Free, and there is tea.

Bespoke, answered

Before you ask

There is no minimum for monogramming or foil stamping on an existing product — a single notebook is fine. Fully custom commissions (new formats, custom dies, bespoke boxes) start at twenty-five units, because the die and set-up costs need somewhere to sit.
Allow eight weeks from first conversation to delivery for a letterpress suite, and six for foil. We can compress to four weeks with a rush fee, but the paper still needs to rest between passes and we will not shorten that.
Foils come in a fixed palette — brass, copper, silver, forest, ivory and black. For exact colour matching we would recommend letterpress with a mixed Pantone ink, which we can hold to within a very close tolerance.
Yes. Vector files (AI, EPS, PDF) are ideal. We will redraw raster artwork for the press at no charge if it is straightforward; complex redrawing is quoted separately.
Personalised pieces cannot be returned unless there is a fault in materials or workmanship, in which case we remake them. This is why we insist on a physical proof first.
